Well- it’s that time of year again!! Another year has passed which means time to start planning our resolutions for the upcoming year. Most times we get ahead of ourselves by creating these huge unreachable goals, and then get discouraged come February when we fall off the wagon. Not this year folks- I have created my 5 resolutions and I plan on making them challenging yet achievable. Here we go..
1. Reduce the ‘Silly’ Spending
I need to really focus on saving money. I spend way too much money on little random things throughout the week and you never realize that these things add up, QUICK! For example- Starbucks everyday?? Grande Latte $4.95 x 5 days a week= $25 x 52 weeks=$1,300!!!!! By reducing the amount of silly spending everyday, and determining between a want and a need, can really help with saving money. This year I have decided that I am going to write down EVERY THING I purchase at the end of each day. This will give me an idea of what I should and shouldn’t be spending my money on, and hopefully keep me on track.
2. Be More Active
Each year I start by saying, “I’m going to the Gym everyday, no matter what!” That is a total fail because by the time January 10th roles around, I’m in bed not wanting to go to the gym. This year is different- I want to lead a more active lifestyle. If that brings me to the gym 3-4 times per week, great! If that means going out for a walk a couple times a week, awesome! I just want to be more active in my day to day life. Now I know this may seem hard in the winter- but instead of watching 5 episodes of The Crown on Netflix- watch 4 and go for a 40 min walk? Easy enough!
3. Focus on Creating Content
This year I want to focus my time on creating lots of content for my blog. I’m almost coming up to my 1 year blog anniversary so reflecting on the past year has been great. I’ve built a strong and growing audience, completing my first sponsored social media post, and I have a partnered up with a couple brands in exchange for blog posts. I want to work really hard so that this continues all through 2018. Working hard & seeking originality & growing my audience !
4. Choose Healthier Options
I want to focus on making healthier choices when it comes to my eating habits. By no means am I going to follow a strict diet with rules and times, but choosing a fresh salad or sandwich over fast food is a start. Bringing my own breakfast to work everyday is an essential for me to have a productive day. I plan on sticking to an 80/20 lifestyle as this won’t deprive me from what I love (donuts, macaroons, chocolate). Now this does not mean I’m NEVER going to have McDonald’s.. but moderation is key my friends!
5. Let Things Go
This year, I’m going to attempt to let all the little things go. I am also going to attempt to always look on the positive side and to think positive thoughts. A couple people have told me that if you continue to think and act positive, everything else will fall into place. By thinking positive and letting the small things go- this will reduce the negativity in my life. I feel as though people concentrate so much on the minor details, that they miss out on a lot.
Let me know in the comments your new years resolutions!
